I thought this might be a fun way to get to know each other's characters before interacting with then IC-ly in the actual game. ;D

[At first, Ami keeps herself out of the way, hidden where she can hear the music but not be seen. It's enjoyable, and soon she steps out into the open and closer.]

Oh? Thank you, miss. Would you like to hear more? [He seems poised to resume or begin another tune.]

(ooc: how bad am I for wanting to choose tripping JUST because it's a dating sim. XD)

[ooc; it's totally up to you, I'm okay with either option. The idea is that whoever replies to the poster is the one giving options, but your way is JUST as fun, so I have no complaints. <3]

[He resumes playing, but picks up another tune. This one is a bit more playful, but softly so. More like a welcoming greeting than anything else. Even as he begins to speak again, he continues to play.] Are you fond of the violin?

[She doesn't talk much about the sailor senshi these days. She isn't their friend, or comrade - though she's fought alongside Neptune and Uranus once or thrice when the Death Busters came. And the girl who brainwashed her school to adore her back in junior high is much more outgoing these days rather than quite as shy. So the choice is easy!]

[Ami takes a few confident steps closer - and trips over something left behind. She catches her footing, but can't help feeling irritated at giving off the bad impression.]

[Almost immediately began to move toward her to try and catch her - the music stopped, but he was quickly returning to resting his cheek on the violin to resume playing.]

Rather shrewd of you. The first blow always merits a disadvantage since it gives away a player's style.

Very well then.

But the truth is, it suits me better, too.

[She pauses while she helps to reset the board, then.]

You must have trouble finding suitable partners, to be playing alone.

[and she returns the smile with one of her own that doesn't quite reach her eyes]

That's true. The board is a tool for strategic study. It wasn't always a plaything. Generals of yore used it to plan battles. I don't see it as a "toy" and I consider it derogatory that using it means saying that you're "playing."

Then again, I was never one for convention.

Certain variations were developed to accommodate different types of battle, as well.

However, chess is also something that helps me to relax and unwind while I apply my mind to it.

I see.

I merely see it as a means to help me plan my tactics whether social, political or on the battlefield.

The most powerful piece on the board.

And yet its real life counterparts are so under appreciated. Take Henry VIII for example. His first queen, Catalina de Aragón, led his troops against the Scots at the Battle of Flodden. But all she's remembered for is how she was spurned in favor of Anne Boleyn...

She wasn't only great for that victory. She was a great patron of learning and education, too; for women as well, which was unusual in that day.

However, don't overlook the knight, either. Its mobility allows it to reach otherwise unreachable places.
