Test Drive Meme
Been considering apping here but aren't sure if it's for you? Post a comment here with the character in question as if they were in the game. The usual rules of character dreams apply, which is to say that for the most part there aren't any. Current members of the community are of course welcome and encouraged to tag around themselves! Otherwise, use this opportunity as an open meme to have your characters interact in their dreams and see if you'd like to consider apping at Passing. :) |
Abel Nightroad | Trinity Blood
Ah... Haha, I can't possibly be the only one taking this train, can I? That's really ridiculous. I mean, you'd think the tickets might have been cheaper, if that was the case, and...
[ Stress dreams are the worst. ]
Just where in the world is everybody!?
no subject
Away of course! I warned them a terribly clumsy oaf of a man was heading this way.
no subject
...For now, though, he just calmly accepts her sudden appearance. Because this is a dream. And he has bigger fish to fry. ]
Wha- What? Why would you say such terrible things!? Really awful! Now I'm going to miss my train, and I'm going to get into trouble...!
no subject
But alas, she sighs. It's almost a sigh that changes into a light laugh, melodramatic brother she missed you.]
Because surely missing a train is the worst thing can happen. The world is going to end ... again.
no subject
Almost as if she'd struck him, he starts and then clams up just as quick, all trace of petulant complaint gone from his tone and expression. He can't quite keep all of the hurt from showing behind his surprise. ]
...Why would you say a thing like that?
no subject
She furrows her brows together, maybe the slightest bit confused as to what the problem was with saying it. The world didn't completely end after all.]
I thought you'd be able to take a joke about it.
no subject
His reply is no harsh reprimand, though; he only sounds clearly resigned, softer, quieter than before. ]
How could I ever joke about a thing like that?
no subject
She's going to walk right up to him, nearly toe to toe and look at him with clear determination. Even though convincing him to let go of the past is a losing battle and she knows it.]
You survived it, Abel. You lived through something that ended lesser beings. Guilt yourself for surviving all you want but you have to know that's not helping anyone. Not you, not your friends or family.
no subject
Or, really, if he'd just not been himself. A truly hopeless case. ]
My guilt is not their burden to carry. I won't allow it to drag anyone else down with me. I'm not that careless person, anymore.

[She's bitter and there's no attempt to disguise it. He should know how angry she is that he wasn't around for so many centuries. Along with the jealousy that now even in her death, Lilith was the force that kept her from having her brother by her side.
The sad fact was time was not capable of healing all wounds. Somehow it had only made twisted those feelings and make them worse.]
no subject
[ He's surprised - or, perhaps, he will be when he wakes up (dreams of Seth have never behaved in this way, any honest way) - but it's a drop in the ocean, still. Nothing will ever be enough to shake him from his guilt. ]
I do care, but I can't just-- [ He falters, searching for some small consolation, anything that won't just upset her further, but it's a losing battle, either way. ] ...I'm sorry. But I can't change the way things are.
no subject
You had plenty of time to change how things could have been and I gave you an opportunity to as well. You choose not to take these chances.

[ The sound of regret is overwhelming in his reply. He wishes for some perfect argument to assuage her anger, but he knows, of course, that he wouldn't deserve that, either. She should be angry with him. She should hate him. That's the kind of existence he's earned. ]
And... In the end, even if I knew without a doubt that there was nothing more I could do to atone, I still wouldn't deserve that kindness.

Probably running for cover before Seth arrives. Her shin kicks aren't something to take lightly, Abel.
[He adds in with a laugh.] It's no secret you are her favorite punching bag.
no subject
But for all of his horror and grief and fury, instantaneous upon recognizing him, Abel is not entirely blind. This is Cain, not simply the monster who wears his face in all the rest of Abel's dreams, and his anger fizzles out just as quickly as it came to him.
The realization doesn't stop the dream itself from darkening somewhat, just around the edges, but when he answers, there is only reluctant agreement in his voice. ]
She's... Meaner than she used to be, you know.
no subject
I realized that some time ago... [The food is gone as Cain cautiously approaches Abel. He's waiting for something bad to happen. He's hoping if it does Buffy or Minato would swoop in and take him off to a nicer, safer dream.]
She's had to endure a lot all by herself. We talk about it sometimes.
no subject
He doesn't move, as Cain comes closer, though it's sorely tempting to turn and simply wish him away, again, like the phantom he is. Even in sleep, Abel doesn't believe him to be real, and he thinks he really could make him disappear, if he only wanted it enough. ]
It's been such a long time since I've seen her... But it's still strange to think she's changed so much.
no subject
Between us I miss the days when she was a tiny little thing that clung to Lilith's hip. She was happier then.
[As happy as a toddler who was regularly experimented on could be anyways.]
no subject
[ He says it like it's so casual, and for a moment, Abel turns to him with genuine surprise - but it's difficult to look at Cain for long, this person who is a stranger to him, now, more than anyone. ]
...Mm. Maybe. [ But Abel doesn't know anything about happiness, back then. And of all of them, he thinks, he might have been cruelest to Seth, from the start. Indifferent. ] I suppose my memory isn't what it used to be.
no subject
Maybe we should be getting you fish then. It might help that old man memory of yours.
no subject
I've never liked that greasy fish, you know. I'd prefer something sweet.

[He looks around, again, somewhat anxiously, and when he speaks, next, it seems he's talking more to himself than to Cain.]
I'm still waiting for that train. If I leave this spot, I'm liable to miss it, entirely... And my boss won't be pleased, if she has to foot the bill for a second ticket.
